Plan Ahead!

The Canadian government maintains an excellent list of resources available to help plan for your post-secondary education, save, budget and more.

Student Loans

RCPA is a registered Ontario Career College under the Ontario Career Colleges Act of 2005.

Students enrolled in the Performing Arts Program may be eligible, if qualified, for loans, grants, or awards granted under the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

You are eligible to apply for OSAP if you meet the following residency requirements:

  • You have always resided in Ontario, or

  • Ontario is the last province you resided in for 12 consecutive months without being a full-time post-secondary student.

Residents of provinces and territories outside of Ontario should reference their provincial student loan systems:

Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards

RCPA students in their second and third years are eligible for a merit-based bursary. First-year students may be considered for a bursary based on demonstrated financial need. Please contact our Financial Aid Officer for more information.

Higher Ed Points Program

It is now possible to use loyalty points to help pay for your education through the Higher Ed Points Program. Use your own, or accept donated points from friends and family. If your preferred loyalty points program isn’t yet a member, there is a handy form to fill out to help Higher Ed Points bring other organizations on board.

External Scholarship Application Tips

Start early! Prepare profiles, cover letters, résumés, & reference letters in advance.

Manage Your Time! Set aside 1-2 hours per week to work on them, keep track of deadlines on your phone, and keep copies of your applications & submissions.

Proffreed! Cheque you’re speling and grammer! Or ask a friend. Just get it checked.

Apply to everything! The more scholarships you apply for, the better your odds - sometimes you might get a scholarship because you’re the only one who applied! Don’t overlook the smaller amounts, they often have fewer applicants.
