VTM 5
I am an established performer and educator with over 17 years of experience working with singers and actor-performers. My teaching integrates voice, text, and movement, and is grounded in evidence-based vocal pedagogy with a strong emphasis on vocal health, efficiency, and adaptability. I tailor my work to students’ immediate needs while supporting long-term skill development and sustainable practice. As an actively working performer and educator, I bring a practical, industry-informed approach to the classroom. My background spans musical theatre, Shakespeare, contemporary commercial music (CCM), and classical technique, allowing me to support students in navigating stylistic demands while maintaining technical clarity and embodied expression. I hold a Post-Graduate Certificate in Professional Practice in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in partnership with the Voice Study Centre, as well as a Bachelor of Music from the University of Regina with a double major in Vocal Performance and Music History. I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Voice Pedagogy at the University of Essex and the Voice Study Centre.
My professional performance credits include work with the Stratford Festival, Grand Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Capitol Theatre, Talk Is Free Theatre, Young People’s Theatre, The Globe Theatre, Persephone Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, Factory Theatre, Driftwood Theatre, Shakespeare in the Ruff, and Vertigo Theatre. I am a member of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, ACTRA, NATS, and the Musical Theatre Educators Alliance. At the core of my teaching practice is a commitment to helping students develop a healthy, informed, and embodied relationship with their voices—one that integrates voice, language, and movement, and prepares them to meet the contemporary demands of training and professional performance.
